Grammys 2019: Jennifer Lopez, Smokey Robinson and Ne-Yo celebrate Motown
With label founder Berry Gordy sitting front and center at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo and Smokey Robinson paid tribute to the legendary Motown Records. It’s the 60th anniversary of the label, which was home to artists such as the Jackson 5, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, The Tempations, Gladys Knight and many, many more. Lopez, who has been busy performing in Las Vegas, was a solid choice to pull of a Motown medley as she blasted through “Dancing in the Street” by Martha & The Vandellas, “Please Mr. Postman” by The Marvelettes, The Temptations’ “Papa Was a Rolling Stone,” during which Keys jumped in for a few lines and Robinson came out with “My Girl.” As R&B singer-songwriter Ne-Yo played piano, Lopez hopped on top and sang and rolled around during Wonder’s “Another Star.” It was a fast-paced performance with a ... read more
