Grammys 2019: Ricky Martin, Camila Cabello and J Balvin deliver a colorful bilingual performance
Latin crossover sensation Ricky Martin first performed at the 41st Annual Grammy Awards ceremony and gyrated his hips to “Cup of Life,” the 1998 World Cup anthem, at the Shrine in Los Angeles in 1999. He returned to the Grammy stage 20 years later to join Cuban-American singer-songwriter Camila Cabello, J Balvin and trumpet player Arturo Sandoval in a colorful version of Cabello’s Grammy-nominated hit, “Havana.” It was a big moment for Latin music as throughout the Grammys’ 61-year history there have only been a total of 15 Latin artists to perform including last year’s fiery delivery of “Despacito” from Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee.
